We are conveniently located to service your pet's needs near these communities: Lewisville, Highland Village, Flower Mound, Copper Canyon, Argyle, Lantana and Denton. Our location is easy to find. We are located at 2810 Justin Rd. The hospital provides services ranging from routine health check-ups and vaccinations to surgery, dentistry and boarding.

At Animal Medical Center of Highland Village, you will walk into a calm, welcoming, and friendly environment every visit, so that the experience is as comfortable as possible for you and your pet. Because we spend 365 days a year at the hospital caring for pets, we maintain an immaculate, state of the art facility. Our staff is compassionate about veterinary medicine and are extremely well trained. We strive to provide professional, affordable and advanced veterinary services.   • L. Austin Strauch, DVM

    Dr. Strauch graduated from Texas A & M University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1975.  After being an associate in a small animal practice in Dallas for nine years, he opened the first small animal veterinary practice in Highland Village in 1984.  In 2001, he and Paul McCullough, DVM, merged their solo practices to form Animal Medical Center of Highland Village.

    Dr. McCullough graduated from Texas A & M University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. After graduation, he practiced in Plano for 5 years with a multi-clinic group practice.He left Plano in 1991 to open a practice in Highland Village and remained at that location until the opening of Animal Medical Center in June 2002.

    Dr. Schoelkopf was raised in the DFW Metroplex. Following her graduation from the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson in 2002 with a BS in Biology, she attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. She earned a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Parasitology in 2004, and published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in the field of tick-borne diseases.

    Dr. Carnes grew up in Highland Village where, thanks to her dog, Sadie, she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine at a young age. During high school, she began her career at Animal Medical Center of Highland Village as a kennel technician. Dr. Carnes received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 2013.
