We strive to prevent illness in your pet whenever possible through routine healthcare. At Animal Medical Center, we offer comprehensive wellness plans designed to meet the needs of your pet based on their lifestyle, eating habits, exercise habits, etc.

As our pets age, we recommend two routine wellness check-ups a year starting at the age of 8-10 years old, depending upon the breed of your pet. Since our pets age more quickly than we do, they require more frequent medical attention.

Wellness check-ups and a healthy lifestyle can greatly improve the quality and length of your pet's life through the early detection and treatment of disease.

Because some diseases and illnesses are too serious to be managed at home, there may be a time that we recommend that your pet be admitted to our hospital for treatment or for more diagnostic tests.

While your pet is in our hospital, we want you to feel comfortable knowing that they will receive kind and gentle care from our team of highly skilled Technicians and Doctors. You will be kept informed of the progress of your pet and informed of any significant changes in your pet's condition.

Our vaccination protocols are tailored to each individual pet, following the protocols endorsed by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

There have been extensive studies performed and they have shown that certain vaccines can maintain strong levels of protection for up to three years. Because of this, the interval between booster vaccines in adult animals has changed over the years.

We will advise you on the best vaccination protocol for your pet based on age, lifestyle, risk of disease exposure and state requirements.

We offer advanced surgical techniques and technology using the latest modern anesthetics and monitoring devices. Depending upon the age of your pet and the procedure being performed, we will run a pre-anesthetic blood panel on your pet prior to anesthesia. We also perform an EKG to determine the heart health of your pet. We place an IV Catheter, and maintain your pet on IV fluids before, during and after the surgical procedure. These extra measures are taken to help minimize surgical risks and ensure a smooth recovery.

Additionally, your pet is continuously monitored by devices used to determine their heart rate, oxygen saturation levels and temperature. We maintain the pet's body temperature by using special warming blankets called "bair huggers".

Because dental disease is one of the most commonly diagnosed problems in dogs and cats, good oral health is of vital importance if we want our pets to remain healthy.

At some point in your pet's life, they will most likely need a dental cleaning to restore the mouth to a more healthy state. Because dental procedures are performed under general anesthesia, we will first run a pre-anesthetic blood panel to minimize any risks associated with anesthesia. We may take dental radiographs to help pinpoint areas of trouble below the gum line that are not visible to the naked eye. Some of these include fractures, bone loss, and infection. Your pet will then receive a routine dental cleaning which includes ultrasonic scaling above and below the gum line, polishing, and ora-vet sealant.

Between dental cleanings, we recommend home dental care, which may include brushing and/or special dental treats and chews.

We offer a climate and temperature controlled boarding facility equipped with a fenced walking yard, indoor dog runs, a separate cat boarding area, cozy cots, and all the TLC you could expect from a staff of people committed to providing top-notch care to your pets.

We provide the beds, food, water and TLC for your pet, and are able to accommodate pets with special needs. If your pet is on a special diet or requires medication, please feel free to bring those items with you when dropping off for boarding along with special feeding instructions, and we will administer as prescribed.

Sit back, enjoy your vacation, and feel confident knowing that your pet is being lovingly cared for by the compassionate staff at Animal Medical Center.

When x-rays are needed for your pet, our hospital is equipped to provide fast-accurate x-rays with our digital x-ray unit.  State-of-the-art digital x-ray machines help facilitate expedited treatment.  Digital x-rays provide our doctor's with valuable information about your pet in the diagnosis of certain medical conditions including bones, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, prostate and bladder.

ECG (Electrocardiograms):

With our in-house ECG, we are able to visibly see the functioning of the heart in the form of an electrical interpretation on a monitor. An ECG can help us identify many abnormalities of the heart and is a great tool in helping us diagnose certain heart conditions.

Our in-house laboratory features state-of-the-art testing equipment which allows us to obtain fast and accurate results. Laboratory testing plays an integral role in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. We are able to perform emergency, routine and pre-surgical blood chemistries.

For more complex cases, we utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

We offer a large line of Hills Science Diet products for all life-stages of your pet. For pets with special dietary needs, we carry a large assortment of Hills, Royal Canin, and Purina Prescription diets. We are here to assist you in developing a nutritional plan to meet the individual needs of your pet.

Laser therapy is a sterile, pain-free, surgery-free, drug-free treatment option which is used to treat a variety of disorders. It is a deep penetrating light that allows relief of pain through the release of endorphins and stimulates the injured cells to heal at a faster rate. If your pet suffers from arthritis, chronic ear infections, back pain, hip pain, lick granulomas, anal gland problems, lacerations, abrasions, hip dysplasia or cystitis, they may benefit from laser therapy treatment.
